Apply: In search of the next grand chef under 25-yrs

The Taste Awards 2015 has introduced a new award in the Prestige Category ‘The Rising Star.’

This award is aimed at applauding a younger generation and giving them a much-needed platform to highlight their skills. Taste, is inviting all professional chefs under the age of 25 to enter.

Submissions must include one recipe of their choosing to be easily executed without assistance, as well as their CV.

Deadlines for submissions close on 14th August 2015

Three finalists will battle it out in a cook-off to be crowned junior chef of the year.

Heading up the judging panel is Jeff Baker, Executive Chef Capital Club East Africa. Baker began his career in a professional kitchen in 1983, working alongside some of the world’s top chefs. Jeff was later awarded a Michelin Star at Pool Court, a first for the city of Leeds.

From the age of 26, the young Executive Chef held onto the Michelin Star for a decade before opening his own Bistro Moderne, located in York. He is one of only a handful of professional Chefs to retain the coveted Michelin star for 10 consecutive years,

“The Award was inspired as a way to recognize young and upcoming talent that is more often than not overlooked. We believe that this will get their peers motivated and challenged in their various capacities,” Shreya Karia, Co-Founder of Taste and Director at SHK Consulting noted.

As with every Taste Award all evaluations are conducted impartially and to international rankings. All results are audited and monitored by BDO.
