Akothee’s daughter Rue Baby comes second to Stacy Michuki during the Miss Universe Kenya pageant

Kenyan singer Akothee’s daughter Rue baby did her mother proud by emerging as one of the finalists of the Miss Universe Kenya pageant.

Rue Baby whose name is Aggry Dion came second in the hotly contested competition held at the Panari Hotel on Sunday (20.10.19) while the late politician John Michuki’s granddaughter Stacy Michuki won the pageant, making her the new Miss Universe Kenya. Caroline Kinuthia was the 2nd runner up.

The 18-year-old beauty takes over from Wabaiya Kariuki as the reigning Miss Universe for the year 2019 – 2020. Stacy Michuki has a fighting spirit. She represents what the future holds and hopes at the end of it all, the world will take big chances on young people.

In 2017, Stacy Michuki was crowned ‘Face of Nairobi Top Teen Model’. In the following year, she was first runner-up in the ‘Few’s Next Face Africa 2018’.

Aggry Dion is a 21-year-old model who strives to be successful in the industry. She loves interacting and making new friends and wants to champion for women to feel confident in their own skin colour. In recent Instagram posts, Rue has declined her mother’s offer of taking her to the Maldives to celebrate and rather asked her mother to take all of the 16 Miss Universe contestants on holiday.

Carolyne Kinuthia was born and raised in Mombasa, Kenya. She has encouraged young girls and women whether in schools or prisons to never to give up on their dreams despite their circumstances.

Stacy will represent Kenya at the Miss Universe 2019 pageant scheduled to take place on 19th December 2019 in Seoul, South Korea. She will face 80 other beauties from across the world for the top honour.
