Veteran TV personality Catherine Kasavuli is grateful to Kenyans for standing with her and wishing her a quick recovery.
The KBC news anchor has taken to social media to thank Kenyans after her blood donation appeal went viral on Monday (07.11. 2022).
“Thank you for your prayers and encouragement. We shall fight this,” posted Kasavuli.
The legendary broadcaster Catherine Kasavuli who is currently at Kenyatta National Hospital has been diagnosed with cervical cancer.
The media fraternity have come together to spread the word and wishing Kasavuli a quick recovery on social media.
Her boss at the station, acting Managing director Samuel Maina has mobilised colleagues to help the veteran newscaster.
“Dear friends, colleagues and well-wishers. Our dear colleague Catherine Kasavuli is hospitalized at the KNH Private Wing after being diagnosed with cervical cancer.
“For those who can, she needs blood transfusion urgently. Your prayers and moral support will be very welcome,” he told employees.
Citizen TV news anchor Francis Gachuri also mobilized well-wishers on social media to contribute to the blood donation drive at KNH.
Kasavuli who was Kenya’s first female news anchor made a grand comeback to the screens in 2021 as part of KBC’s relaunch strategy.
