United States International University -Africa (USIU) hosted AIESEC national executive board elections on Saturday 4th November 2017.
AIESEC is a global non-profit organization that offers youth with leadership opportunities. The organization held its annual elections. The student-run organization holds democracy is a key pillar in the organization, with students from several universities in Kenya elected their presidents.
The ceremony started at around noon at USIU’s auditorium with presidential candidates then introduced themselves. There was Wanjohi Wamuyu from Moi University, Njeri Mukira from Strathmore University, Ephraim Kimenju and Rachel Kirui from Daystar University, Ivy Gathoni and Esther Kamau from USIU-Africa and Edgar Pondo from Kenya Methodist University.

The host of the event was David Kyalo, an advisor to the AIESEC Kenya Board, a former president for AIESEC in Moi University. The day offered candidates a chance to outline their as well as the presentation of a motivational speech before the voting began.
The new presidents of the various University local chapters are:
Wanjohi Wamuyu (Moi University)
Njeri Mukira (Strathmore University)
Esther Kamau (USIU-Africa)
Edgar Pondo (Kenya Methodist University) and
Rachel Kirui (Daystar University)
The new presidents will represent their universities in the national executive board of AIESEC.
