Kenyatta University Law students have every reason to smile after the Attorney General Prof Githu Muigai promised them opportunities at the State Law Office. On Friday, March 6, during the official opening of Kenyatta University School of Law Complex in Parklands, the AG asked the VC Prof Olive Mugenda to send him students, indicating that his office urgently needed them.

“Send some law students to us, we really need them,” said Prof Githu who was the Chief Guest at the Event.

The AG’s statement could see KU Law students get professional experience through internships at the highest legal office in the land. Kenyatta University’s multi-million project, which has taken more than two years to construct, seeks to put the institution on the map of leading legal training institutions in the country.

Prof Mugenda, in her remarks, hinted KU’s plans in keeping pace with international standards.

“We are introducing Masters Program in Law this September,” said Mugenda.

The building will host lecture theaters, moot court, boardrooms, computer laboratories, a library and staff offices among others. The AG challenged his learned friends to make good use of the facility and aim to be quality lawyers, adding that no university in the country has such modern facility. Kenyatta University started offering LLB in 2009.
