According to Reuters’ World Most Innovative Universities rankings, Stanford University is at the top.
It’s followed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Havard University. The Reuters’ rankings usually focus on varsities that focus on a lot on developing new innovations and advancing science.
Universities in the United States continue to dominate the list followed by those in the United Kingdom. The University of Manchester ranked number 27 in this year’s ranking.
Asian institutions follow after the U.S and UK but African universities are still lagging behind. There was no African institution ranked. The list was based on 100 entries and the ranking was split by the United States(48), followed by Europe (27), Asia (23) and the Middle East (2).
South American institutions also didn’t manage to make the cut. The University World News reports that the list was limited to varsities with over 70 patented innovations during a 5-year period.
