‘African Giant’ Burna Boy and ‘Konde Boy’ Harmonize to battle it out for top spot at the 2019 MTVEMA

The nominees for the 2019 MTV European Music Awards are out and with it, a chance to know is king of African music.

Top African superstars like South Africa’s Nasty C and Prince Kaybee. Nigeria’s Burna Boy and Teni the Entertainer. Togo’s Toofan and Tanzania’s Harmonize have been nominated in The Best African Act category in the upcoming prestigious awards.

Although there is no Kenyan nominee this time while the south and the west, have two nominees each,  the ‘Kainama’ hitmaker will be representing for East Africa. It will be a hotly contested category with Harmonize, Burna Boy and Nasty C being the favourites of the different regions.

Last year, Nigeria’s Tiwa Savage won The Best African Act award at the awards after beating some of Africa’s finest artists like Kenyan rapper Nyashinski.

The 2019 MTV EMAs will be held in Seville Spain, on 3 November 2019. This will be the fourth time, as well as the second consecutive year, that Spain hosts the awards show.

As reported by The Sauce, Ariana Grande was nominated for seven awards, followed by Shawn Mendes, Billie Eilish and Lil Nas X, who were each nominated for six.
