Hundreds of art lovers and designers made their way to the School of the Arts and Design, University of Nairobi for the third Ibuka event dubbed “If Found, Return to Africa”. The event began with a public exhibition where over 230 pieces of artwork were displayed, ranging from drawings and paintings to graphic prints, sculpture, jewellery and photography.

The African culture cut across the entertainment session with performances by the Journey live band, Kalahari, Teardrop the poet among others. Ibuka officials, Muigai Mbugua and Simeon Kamunde, invited the audience to join the Ibuka community which is open to all who are interested in visual and performing arts.

The event hit a climax during the fashion show when Ledida Fashion House led other designers to display an impressive collection of African-inspired clothing on the runway. The designers- Ledida Wanyoike and Bahari said, “Being our first ever showcase, it was a really humbling experience.” Interestingly, the two are students Commerce at the University of Nairobi.

“Great stuff. The organisation and designs were awesome. Big up to Ledida and the Ibuka organizers. Looking forward to work with you again,” said Musa Razaq, a model who took part in the event.
