Adele has announced her upcoming Las Vegas residency, set to begin in January 2022.
Multiplatinum and award-winning British music superstar Adele has been riding high on her newly-released album, 30, and it looks like she will be heading to Las Vegas for a residency early next year, joining a list of legendary musicians who have had residencies in Vegas.
Per Variety, the Easy on Me singer’s residency will be called Weekends with Adele and is slated to kickstart on January 21, 2022 at the monumental Colosseum of Las Vegas’ Caesars Palace Hotel. She will be performing two shows every weekend for an entire 12 weeks, wrapping her show on April 16.
After dropping the new album, Adele was adamant she is not down for a world tour yet on grounds of the COVID-19 restrictions and all that comes with that. “It’s too unpredictable with all the rules and stuff. I do not want anyone coming to my show scared,” she said in an interview with Rollingstone. That would imply that the shows at the residency are hitherto the only announced shows in support of the new album.
Legendary musicians like Mariah Carey, Cher, Elton John and Bette Midler have headlined shows at Caesars before, so Adele is in good company, it suffices to say.
Adele’s 4th album, 30, debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 last week.
