Seasoned media personality and social justice activist Janet Mbugua has responded to Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria’s claims that she turned down his offer to deputize in his quest for the Kiambu gubernatorial seat.
“Thank you Moses Kuria for considering me capable to serve Kiambu County as Deputy Gov. Indeed, active engagement in politics isn’t for me at the moment. I remain available in support of quality service to the good people of Kiambu and all of Kenya, more so vulnerable women and girls,” She wrote on her social media pages.
Prior to her response, the parliamentarian and Chama Cha Kazi (CMC) party leader had taken to Twitter to announce the former prime time news anchor had turned the enviable offer. Hailing her as a societal inspirational figure, he further said that should he get the seat, his government would still seek the Mbugua’s services. Kuria had advertised the position with a clearly stipulated threshold that willing applicants are to meet.
“Master’s Degree and a proven track record leading a complex organization with at least 10 years of work experience, five of which must be at the senior executive level. To deliver on this programme, Moses Kuria is looking for an aggressive, self-motivated, self-driven lady professional to take up the role of the Deputy Governor,” Read the advert.
