Securex Agencies (K) Ltd is pleased to award five comprehensive secondary school scholarships as part of its annual Scholarship Scheme. As part of the scheme, now in its fourth year, five students who have a parent who has worked for the company as a guard for at least 10 years, are awarded a comprehensive sponsorship package that covers their school fees for their entire high school education.
This year’s top candidate, Eugene Ochieng, scored 379 marks out of a possible 500 to secure a place at Agoro Sare High School in Homa Bay County. This year’s award ceremony also saw Faith Atyang (Moi Girls High School-Isinya), Abigail Wamboi (Shikunga High School), Alvin Mogaka (Upper Hill School) and Justah Wangui (Moi Girls High School-Kamangu) being awarded for their stellar performance in the 2016 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education examinations.
According to Securex Group Managing Director, Tony Sahni, the scholarship scheme affirms the company’s belief in strong family values and its commitment to promoting employee welfare. “Securex is a company built on family values. We like to promote family values and take care of our own whenever we can, and this was the underlying principle behind the Securex Scholarship program when we started in 2014.”
GM Mr. Sahni added, “The first group of children to benefit from the scheme are now in Form Four; and this has called for us to become innovative to ensure we do all we can to help secure their future. We are conceptualizing an internship program which will see the children work with Securex over their holidays and after they join a university as well. We will do all we can to help guide the children to make the right career choices beyond their high school education.”

Faith Atyang, one of this year’s beneficiaries, voiced her appreciation of being recognized by the firm and her excitement to begin the next leg of her academic journey at Moi Girls-Isinya. “I am very grateful to the company for sponsoring me. Ten years from today, I want to be a flying doctor in order to treat people and help my nation. I am very excited to be joining Form One in a week and I promise to score A’s throughout until my K.C.S.E exam in four years’ time.”
