If you love horror movies then you must have heard of Stephen King who has been ranked as one of the greatest horror writers in the world.
Many of his books have been adapted into films here are five of the best of his horror films:
1.THE SHINING(1980)
“HERE’S JOHNNY” This film was released in the year 1980 and won 4 Academy Awards and 8 nominations. The story is about a man who moves his family to an isolated hotel with a violent past and his psychic son sees horrific foreboding from both past and future. But the father becomes violent due to the sinister presence in the house. On IMDB it got a rating of 8.4 and though it received high praise the writer Stephen King says it’s a poor adaptation of the book.
2.CARRIE(2013)
An awkward teenager protected by a fanatical mother becomes the butt of all jokes in school. When the pranks of her classmates go out of hand, she unleashes her telekinetic powers. And though it is not the most horrific movie from Stephen King it certainly is every outcast’s dream to be able to stand up to their bullies. It has a 5.9 rating on IMDB. It received a People’s Choice Award for in the ‘Best Horror Movie’ category.
3.PET SEMATARY(2019)
Dr. Lous Creed and his family lose their family cat in an accident and bury it in a nearby cemetery. However, this unleashes darkness that soon haunts the creeds in terrifying ways. Though its a remake of the original movie that was made in 1989. It received a 5.7 rating on IMDB. Stephen King is very proud of this film although it makes a change from the book. This movie takes reincarnation to another level.
4. IT (2017)
Were you afraid of clowns when you were a child? If you weren’t this film will make you scared of them. Seven helpless and bullied kids are forced to face their nightmares when Pennywise a shape-shifting clown appears who is an ancient evil who torments children before feeding on them. It received a 7.3 rating on IMDB.So if your searching for a scare your prayers have been answered.
5.IT CHAPTER 2 (2019)
After 27 years, the Losers Club receives a call from their friend Mike Hanlon that Pennywise is back. They decide to honor their promise and return to their old town to end the evil clown for good. This is a follow-up from It one and though its not as scary as the first one its still a good film. I would recommend you watch the first one first. It received a rating of 6.5 on IMDB. In this film, Stephen King even makes an appearance.
