After a breakup, one often feels unwanted and unworthy of love. Overcome by a tsunami of emotions, it can be difficult to see one’s future without your ex. When you go through a heartbreak after days of self-reflection, one reaches a breakthrough point. You arrive at the conclusion that it indeed time to let go! It’s actually the best thing. Let go! Yet the hardest thing to do in the world.
Here are a few lessons you could learn from my experience that could have you back on your feet asap:
1. If you love someone, let them go. If they come back, it’s meant to be
If they had the courage to go, don’t waste your energy trying to convince them to stay. One thing I did while recovering from a devasting breakup was listen to a lot of podcasts and watch videos on YouTube. Garner inspiration from various sources and build yourself up. There is one where TB Joshua says, nothing happens by mistake so if the chapter is closed move on.
2. You did nothing wrong
A lot of people might ask you, what did you do? But you must understand that the break-up is not your fault. You gave it your all and it just didn’t work out. So do not blame yourself. Learn to make peace with the past, and focus on the future.
3. There is hope
Cliche. I know . But better things out there. Don’t give up. They say, as one door closes, another opens. It is better to stay focused on bettering yourself. A break-up is not the end, there will be another person who will love just as much if not more than your ex ever did. When relationships fail, don’t be too hard on yourself. It is what it is. You can’t control that. Focus on things you can control.
4. Don’t lower your standards
Your standards have nothing to do with them ghosting or walking away from you. You are just fine so be you and keep your standards. You might be tempted to change things up in an effort to keep up with expectations. However, maintaining your standards will help sift through the weeds and the chaff. Keep your expectations reasonable and the rest will follow.
5.Work on yourself
Take the time to work on your whole being . Go to the gym, read up, reconnect with God and are sure to notice a difference. You will notice that it will boost your confidence to a higher level and it will help you reclaim your happiness.
