4th annual music summit ONGEA! 2019 kicks off to a great start

The 4th Annual Eastern Africa Music Summit has invited Peter Astedt, Co-Founder of Live at Heart festival from Sweden, to be one of this year’s bookers for its 2019 Edition, being held on Thursday 14th to Sunday 17th February, at Sarit Centre Expo Hall in Westlands.

Over the years, ONGEA! (and its Decade-long predecessor of KENYA MUSIC WEEK), has been at the forefront in supporting the development of the music industry of Africa, into one that is more professional, transparent & profitable for all. ONGEA! 2019 will feature 32 showcases, from different artists given 25-minutes each, over the 4 Days of the Summit, from 6.00pm-10.00pm each evening, performing to international & local festival and event bookers and fans.

Peter Astedt will select at least one of the showcase artists to perform, at ‘Live at Heart’ festival in Orebro – Sweden, with all expenses catered for; on their 10 Anniversary, from 4th-7th September 2019. The annual Festival has a Line-up of over 200 Bands, from 40 Countries, who perform to thousands.

The Ongea! Festival will also host Capital FM’s mental wellness initiative Bonga on Friday 15th, 2019 from 2.30 – 4.00pm. Bonga is set to host an industry panel on mental and emotional wellness in the creative industry. The discussions will be moderated by Capital Fm presenter Chao Tolle and will feature Senator Sylvia Mueni Kasanga, Bonga Founder and Capital FM Digital Director David Muba as well as Sauti Sol’s Chimano, tackling the topic of mental wellness within the creative sector.
