3 things to do before joining college as a fresha

Joining the university is an exciting time, however, it is also a difficult and confusing time for many.

The transition from high school to university is not only intimidating but also a major life change that sees many youth loose balance. Often confronted with many changes all at once, it is not easy to keep your life on track. So before you pack up and embrace life as a college student; here are a few things you should do before joining the university.

1. Read

They say reading is the best way to leverage the life experiences and wisdom of those who have lived before us. University is full of experiences, however, to make the most of them it is essential to do a little research. There are various books that not only build self-confidence but also provide direction before any institution of higher learning. The book “What I Wish I Knew When I Was 20: A Crash Course on Making Your Place in the World” by Tina Seelig is a worthy read for anyone prepping for university.

2. Do All Your Health Checks

Late nights at the library, heavy drinking and lots of exploration are often the basis for college life. But, to make the most of it, a healthy mind, body, and soul are critical to enjoying the full university experience. It would be so sad to travel to your campus many kilometers away from home, to only get sick for weeks. Take your health seriously and get a full body check-up, and ensure you stay healthy.

3.Research

A little research never hurt anybody. So you have been accepted to the university of your dreams, but are you familiar with the culture on campus? Do a little research into campus culture, the courses, what to expect from the institution and what is required of you as a student. Remember the point of university is personal growth as well as gaining certification in your education area of choice. Life is not a rehearsal, so take everything with a level of seriousness.
