3 Bombshells that Michelle Obama drops in her book “Becoming”

Former First lady Michelle Obama’s new book ‘Becoming’ comes out today (13.11.2018).

The memoir chronicles her childhood in Chicago, the early years of her marriage to Barack Obama and her time as America’s first African-American first lady. The 426-paged book tells her full story as she has lived it, in her own words and on her own terms.

“Writing ‘Becoming’ has been a deeply personal experience,” Obama said in a press release. “It has allowed me, for the very first time, space to honestly reflect on the unexpected trajectory of my life. In her second book, she talks about “my roots and how a little girl from the south side of Chicago found her voice and developed the strength to use it to empower others. I hope my journey inspires readers to find the courage to become whoever they aspire to be.”

Being one of the most anticipated publications of the year, the iconic personality reveals a few things about her personal life as well as how she feels about the current political situation in the United States with President Trump at the helm. Here are 3 big shockers in this book you should be prepared for:

1. They conceived daughters using IVF

Mrs. Obama reveals that she had a miscarriage and used In Vitro Fertilization commonly referred to as IVF to conceive both children, Malia now 20 and Sasha who is now 17-years-old. She told ABC’s Good Morning America in a recent interview she felt  “lost and alone” after her miscarriage 20 years ago. She added that when she was around 34 years old, she realized that “the biological clock is real” and that “egg production is limited”, which made her decide to seek in-vitro fertilization.

2. The Obamas went to couples therapy

The lawyer and her husband, former President Barack Obama, sought couples therapy. Michelle revealed that the couple’s relationship struggled at times, especially after her husband joined politics, leaving her at home where she was forced to administer IVF shots herself.

“Marriage counseling for us was one of those ways where we learned how to talk out our differences,” she told ABC.”I know too many young couples who struggle and think that somehow there’s something wrong with them. And I want them to know that Michelle and Barack Obama, who have a phenomenal marriage and who love each other work on our marriage.”

3. Michelle Obama will never forgive Trump

The 54-year-old also had something to say about the current US President Donald Trump. In her memoir, Michelle criticizes Trump for “putting my family’s safety at risk” and she would “never forgive” President Trump for championing the “birther” theory that her husband was not born in the US. “The whole [birther] thing was crazy and mean-spirited, of course, its underlying bigotry and xenophobia hardly concealed,” she wrote.

Pres. Trump addressed the allegations on Friday 9th November 2018 by saying, “Michelle Obama got paid a lot of money to write a book and they always insist you come up with controversy. I’ll give you some back.”I’ll never forgive him for what he did to our United States military by not funding it properly,” Mr. Trump said, referring to his predecessor, Mr. Obama.”What he did to our military made this country very unsafe,” he continued.

The book will be published in 24 languages including Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Catalan, Hungarian, German, Hebrew, and French just to name a few. Michelle Obama is set to tour different cities including her hometown of Chicago and London.
