5 Mantras That Made Cardi B A Boss

Unless you live under a rock, you know that 2017 has been the year of Cardi B. From 9 BET award nominations, to dating Offset from the Migos to predictions of her hit “Bodak Yellow” reaching Number 1 on Billboard, Cardi B is a roller coaster that only goes up. But how did she get here? How did she go from the stripper pole to ruling the charts?

As controversial as she may be, there is a lot we can learn about success from Cardi B. Here are a few of those things:

1. Don’t Forget Where You Came From
Cardi is very vocal about being from the Bronx, the “ghetto” of New York City. She still spends a lot of time in the hood because that is where her friends and family are. This is something we should take from her. Success often makes us forget where we came from or the people that were with us before we struck gold. Never forget your roots.

2. Always Radiate Positivity
All of Cardi B’s interviews have one thing in common: the fact that she oozes enthusiasm and is always happy. Cardi is also known as Belcalis Almanzar is always excited and her warm personality draws people in. Positive vibes and an enthusiastic aura in will always make a person stand out.

3. Timing Is Everything
When Cardi noticed that reality TV made it hard for people to take her seriously, she left. She left all the drama (and money) behind to focus on her career in music. In a similar manner, we should stop tugging at opportunities that are not working anymore. We should also learn to recognize when something is not working out and leave before it is too late.

4. Be Yourself
Famed for being one of the most popular personalities in pop culture in 2017, Cardi has stayed true to herself. Her accent, energy, and creative slang are a true depiction of keeping it one hundred. Cardi keeps it real and people like her for it. The biggest takeaway it that, we do not have to pretend to be who we are not for the sake of likeability.

5. Never Forsake Your Dreams
Who knew that Cardi would end up being on top of the Billboard charts? When she was on Love and Hip Hop, she would constantly talk about her rapper ambitions yet people rarely took her seriously. Even so, she continued working towards her dreams and it is finally paying off! It is important to block out the negativity and focus on the goals because sometimes we are the only ones who believe in our journeys.
