15 days remain to Climate Change Art and Essay Competition

Only 15 days remain to the close of the inaugural Kenya Climate Art and Essay competition.

The Inaugural Kenya Climate Change Art and Essay competition is open to learners in Public, Private and APBET (Alternative Provision of Basic Education and Training) primary and Secondary Schools in Nairobi from ages of 6 to 19.

The competition calls upon students to participate by showcasing their creativity and artistic talent, has run for a period of one month up to 30th August 2018. Nairobi County schools were selected to be the first to participate in this phase of the competition. However, the competition rolled out in all counties a little later.

The official award ceremony will be held in September 2018 where the best pieces of artwork will be displayed and essays will be awarded. Deadline for artwork submission is 30th August 2018

The theme of the essay is ” Climate Change: Dream, Express, Act / Ota, Jieleze, Tenda.” Interested participants can view and download the entry form below, more details on how to participate in the competition can also be found on their various school websites. Headteachers and principals will collect all the submitted work and forward those to respective sub-county Director of Education offices. Participants are also urged to utilize the National Climate Change Resource Centre which also hosts the Kenya Climate Change Knowledge Portal (www.kcckp.go.ke).
