NEW YORK, February 24 – Carmelo Anthony made the most of his debut in New York, finishing with 27 points and 10 rebounds Wednesday as the Knicks beat the Milwaukee Bucks 114-108.<\/p>\n
Anthony, wearing No. 7, made only 10 of 25 shots but was most effective in the closing minutes. He nailed a pair of clutch baskets, helping New York hold on after teammate Amare Stoudemire fouled out at Madison Square Garden.<\/p>\n
The Knicks’ other new addition Chauncey Billups finished with 21 points and eight assists as New York won their third-consecutive game.<\/p>\n
Billups and Anthony were playing their first game with the Knicks after Tuesday’s 13-player, three-team blockbuster trade with the Denver Nuggets. Garden fans serenaded Anthony with chants of "Melo, Melo" late in the game and Anthony shot a perfect 12-for-12 from the foul line.<\/p>\n
Toney Douglas scored 23 points and Stoudemire had 19 in the win.<\/p>\n
John Salmons scored 27 points and Aussie Andrew Bogut added 14 points and 12 rebounds in the loss.<\/p>\n
