\"CAPITAL-ANFIELD\"<\/a>NAIROBI, February 22 \u2013 It was close but no cigar yet again for the spirited Capital FM football side after they fell at the final hurdle of the Standard Chartered Bank Road to Anfield tournament after going down 3-2 to Posta in a nail biting final at Nairobi\u2019s Kenya School of Monetary Studies on Sunday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Posta will now represent the country at next month\u2019s East Africa regional finals at the same venue where the winner in a play-off between them and respective champions from Uganda and Tanzania will earn a ticket to a fully paid trip to the home of English Premier League club Liverpool FC as the Best Mix of Music cast were left to rue what might have been.<\/p>\n

Capital featuring Break Fast presenter Maqbul Mohammed, Sport reporter Alex Isaboke and Programmes producer Lassie Atrash in their ranks stunned many to reach the decider but ultimately came short against the mailmen who boasted of experienced players such as ex-Kenyan Premier League campaigner, James Okal.<\/p>\n

Posta scored quick fire goals through Samuel Ouma and Steve Okere against a Capital side still in the dressing room in the first half before Atrash pulled one back on the stroke of half time.<\/p>\n

Radio Africa bounced back from their 2-0 defeat to Posta in the semis to find the frequency to beat Vivo Energy 1-0 in the third-place play-offs.<\/p>\n

Speaking during the trophy presentation ceremony, the Bank\u2019s CEO Lamin Manjang hailed the participating teams for making the tournament a success.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thank all teams for their participation. It\u2019s a befitting final and I congratulate the winners, but continue training hard and prepare well for the regional finals,\u201d said Manjang.<\/p>\n
