Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has hinted he could dip into the market in the January transfer window<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

LONDON, United Kingdom, Mar 4 – Jose Mourinho is adamant that he will win trophies at Tottenham as he hopes for “something special” in the Champions League.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spurs need to overturn a 1-0 deficit when they take\non RB Leipzig in the second leg of their last-16 tie on Tuesday night, but the\nodds are against them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Steven Bergwijn was the latest attacking player to\nbe struck down with injury on the eve of the game as he was ruled out by\nMourinho for the rest of the season with a sprained ankle, joining Harry Kane\nand Son Heung-min in the treatment room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is a big blow for Mourinho’s hopes of winning\nsilverware in his first campaign at Spurs, though the Portuguese is confident\nit will happen at some stage in his time at the club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I believe Tottenham is not going to be my only\nclub without silverware,” he said. “I won it at every club and I\nbelieve I am going to do it also with Tottenham.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I am here for three or four months. I took on\nthe team in a very difficult situation and now it is even more difficult with\nso many problems we’re having but I believe in me, in the players, in the club\nand I believe that during my contract I am going to help the club to do it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It’s not me winning, it’s me helping the club\nand the players to do it.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite their problems and needing a memorable night\nto progress, Mourinho was in bullish mood at his pre-match press conference at\nthe Red Bull Arena.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Portuguese knows how to win this competition\nagainst the odds and is feeling hopeful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Momentum is not the best but I feel the boys\ndeserve something special,” the Portuguese said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The group is very good, the boys give\neverything and again, in a very honest way, if we look at our games against\nNorwich, Wolves, Burnley, I think we fought really hard against all the\ncircumstances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The boys deserve this kind of happiness that a\nvictory in knockout Champions League can bring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“But sometimes in football you don’t get what\nyou deserve. We just have to accept and move on but in this moment, we’re not\nin conditions to accept anything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
