Kenya Airports Authority injects Sh1.2mn towards Benjamin Ayimba tournament

NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 30 – The Benjamin Ayimba Rugby Legacy Tournament scheduled to be hosted in Machakos on Thursday received a shot in the arm with a Sh1.2 million sponsorship from the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA).

The three-day tournament, to run from April 7-9, is being organized to honor the late Kenya Sevens legend Benjamin Ayimba who was one of the Masaku 7s founders.

“We are keen on supporting sports and nurturing talents that we are endowed with to be able to compete and market our country on the global stage. We are proud to be associated with this tournament that honors the late rugby icon Benjamin Ayimba because of what he achieved for Kenya,” Jack Bwana, GM Marketing and amp; Business Dev KAA, said.

“This is a timely boost to our efforts to be able to deliver a top-class tournament in remembrance of our departed brother and also continue to grow the game of Rugby in the country. So far preparations are well on course and well shall deliver as per the expectations of Kenyans,” Quicks Nyakwaka, Chairman organizing committee said.
