Lewis Hamilton reveals loyalty to Mercedes despite recent struggles

LONDON, United Kingdom, Mar 24 – Lewis Hamilton reassures Mercedes that he’s not considering a switch to another Formula 1 team.

Hamilton’s statement came after Toto Wolff, the team boss, stated that he could understand if Hamilton looked elsewhere if they “cannot demonstrate that we’re able to give him a [championship-winning] car.”

However, Wolff remained confident that Hamilton would continue with the squad beyond 2023.

In response to Wolff’s remarks, Hamilton expressed his loyalty to the team in a chat to media, and stated: “I love this team. I’m so grateful for everyone that’s been on the journey with me with this team. I don’t envisage being anywhere else.” He added, “I don’t see myself quitting. I don’t feel like I’m a quitter.”

Despite Hamilton’s reassurance, he admits that the W14’s recent challenges have been difficult. “I wouldn’t say that it’s giving me a lot. I’ve been there and done that and bought the t-shirt many times.

“But I am trying to be patient and work with the team to get us to a good place.” He added, “That’s all I can say right now. I’m not planning on going anywhere.”

When asked if there might be a ‘point of no return’ where he feels unable to get more out of the car, Hamilton replied, “There’s no such thing as ‘can’t’, right? At the moment, it definitely feels like… I just couldn’t get any more out of the car [in qualifying in Saudi Arabia], for example, but I keep trying.”

Hamilton’s loyalty to the team remains unwavering, despite the recent struggles with the W14. His determination to work with the team to improve their performance is admirable, and it highlights his resilience and commitment to the sport.
