NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 18 – Tito Okello found the back of the net twice to inspire champions Gor Mahia spank Western Stima 3-1 while Mathare United chalked its first win of the season after whipping Zoo FC 2-0 in Betking Premier League catch-up fixtures played on Monday.
In Kisumu, Gor, who bagged its third win of the season, moved to eighth in the standings on nine points and they have three matches in hand while Western Stima remain on the relegation zone with five points.
Samuel Onyango opened the scoring 23 minutes after kick-off but Godfrey Villa Orachaman equalized in the 38th minute to see both sides share spoils heading into the breather.
K’Ogalo upped the tempo in the second half that assured them maximum points thanks to Okello’s brace in the 65th and 88th minutes.
At the Kasarani Annex, Mathare United who have, five matches in hand are second last on the log.
Mathare were on scoresheet seven minutes after kick-off courtesy of Daniel Otieno with a low finish from inside the area after set-up by John Mwangi.
The Sum Boys were two goals up four minutes later when John Mwangi bundled the ball over the line to double the lead after the Zoo shot-stopper had parried his initial cracker.
