NAIROBI, Kenya, Dec 15 – The triumphant Kenya Roll Ball team was hosted for dinner by their federation in honor of the team’s performance during the Roll Ball World Cup held in India.

The Ladies were crowned champions as their Men counterparts finished as runners-up for the third time in the tournament that was held last month in Chennai, India.

Also at the dinner to inspire the team was activist Boniface Mwangi who said;

“Congratulations on this great achievement, this being a new sport, your performance was exemplary! It is time more sponsors came in to support the sport and grow it,” Mwangi stated.

Despite the tremendous results, the journey has not been a walk in the park for these great teams due to lack of funds, poor training grounds, attires and support.

Roll ball is an exciting sport where skating is combined with skills from basketball and handball and played with a basketball.

The sport began in the country in 2011 and grew popularity when the ladies team shocked the world by beating India to clinch the title for the first time in 2015.
