NAIROBI, Kenya, May 25 – Ugandan deadly fullback Philip Wokorach produced a man of the match performance to aid Kabras Sugar Rugby Club pick their first silverware this season after mauling Impala Saracens 39-7 to lift the 2019 Enterprise Cup at the RFUEA Ground on Saturday.
Kabras grounded four converted tries, two penalties and a drop goal against Impala’s only one converted try.
At half time, Kabras were on top of the game, leading 21-0 after winger Paul Abuto’s crossed the white wash for Kenya Cup top points scorer Wokorach to convert.
Wokorach, who was named the man of the match, ran from the half way line to double the scores with a diving try at the right corner converting it to make it 14-0 for Kabras.
After a successful maul, Wokorach picked the ball from skipper Max Adaka side stepping through two Impala forwards then sprinting towards the posts to score Kabras third try and later converted to make it 21-0 at half time.
Kenya Cup finalists Kabras got a penalty which was converted by John Kubu to make it 24-0.
Things got worse for Impala after Kabras’ Brian Tonya stole the ball from the half way to make a run scoring the fourth try and Wokorach did what he loves best, converting, to make it 31-0.
Second half substitute Saul Kivumbi scored a consolation try for Impala with full back Antony Odhiambo scoring the extras to make it 31-7 but Wokorach scored a drop goal and penalty to make it 37-7 at full time.
On their way to the finals, Impala Saracens narrowly won 11-10 against KCB in the semi finals while Kabras Sugar whitewashed Kenya Harlequins 54-11.
