LONDON, United Kingdom, Jan 6- Arsene Wenger has dismissed suggestions that star striker Alexis Sanchez is unhappy at Arsenal.
Despite Arsenal’s stunning late comeback from 3-0 down to claim a point against Bournemouth on Tuesday, Sanchez refused to join in the team’s celebrations at the final whistle.
The Chile international sat in silence and then hurled his gloves to the floor in frustration, despite Wenger’s men netting three goals in the final 20 minutes.
Sanchez reportedly remained angry in the dressing room afterwards, which has sparked speculation that he could be ready to leave the Emirates.
But Wenger has played down the 28-year-old’s mood – claiming he was simply showing his passion to finish on the winning side.
“What is surprising? We want to win the games, if you don’t you’re not happy. That is normal,” he said.
“Without passion you do not come back when you are at 70 minutes and 3-0 down. It is exceptional and you need a special response.
“We are all frustrated. Of course [Sanchez] is fine.”
