MUNICH, Germany Dec 16- Bayern Munich manager Carlo Ancelotti has directed a subtle jibe at Arsenal, implying they do not have a chance at winning the Champions League.
Die Roten are set to square off with Arsene Wenger’s charges in the last 16 of the competition in February.
Ancelotti is eyeing his fourth Champions League trophy as a manager, while the Gunners are still in search of their first as a club.
Wenger’s side have been knocked out at the last-16 stage for the past six seasons, and Ancelotti doesn’t see them as a real contender this campaign either.
“We’re [Bayern Munich] hoping to win it and if not, at least get to the final,” said Ancelotti, according to the Metro.
“I can’t say I’m backing anyone else. There are seven sides this year who can win the trophy: Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atlético Madrid, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Bayern Munich.
“At the moment, all seven are among the 16 best.”
