NAIROBI, Kenya, Sep 30 – The eagerly awaited Gor Mahia Special General Meeting (SGM) that was scheduled for Sunday (October 2) has been postponed until further notice.
This was confirmed by the club chairman Ambrose Rachier who outlined five causes for the postponement of the meeting that was meant to bring all the branches together to discuss issues of the most successful club in Kenya.
Rachier pointed out that apart from unavailability of venue, the meeting could not be held due to the delay in fine turning of the proposed amended club constitution which was the main agenda.
The need to comply with the Sports Act 2013 and the CAF club licensing requirements and the importance of coming up with an amended constitution which both complies with the Sports Act and meets approval of the members of Gor Mahia Football Club prior to the SGM, was also highlighted at the cause for rescheduling the meeting.
However, all club branch chairmen have been invited to a meeting at the club offices on Sunday, October 9 from 10am to discuss and fine tune the proposed constitution with every branch required to send two representatives.
