Kenyan teams for Safari, Africa Cup 7s named

NAIROBI, Kenya, Sep 20 – Kenyan teams for the Africa Cup and Safari Sevens tournaments running concurrently at the Safaricom Stadium, Kasarani this weekend have been selected by head coach Benjamin Ayimba.

The Africa Cup squad will be handled by Paul Murunga and consists of players who stood out for their clubs during the just concluded National Sevens Series.

Michael Wanjala, a player with previous World Series experience skippers the side which features among others the electric Aluda Beda from Kabras Sugar, Lameck Dunde of the Resolution Impala Saracens and Alex Olaba from the Strathmore Leos.

Kabras’ playmaker Brian Tanga features in the Safari Sevens squad under the tutelage of Ayimba.

Andrew Amonde will skipper the side that also features Alvin Otieno, Nelson Oyoo, Billy Odhiambo and Leonard Mugaisi.
