BERLIN, Germany, Sep 19 – It is believed that the ongoing court case between Michael Schumacher’s family and German celebrity Magazine Bunte will be resolved next month, with the family set to be awarded between Sh5m and 13m (€40000 – €100000).
In December last year, Bunte published a front page feature claiming that the seven-time World Champion has made encouraging progress with his recovery, revealing he was able to walk and raise an arm.
Schumacher’s manager Sabine Kehm immediately revealed to the public that the story was false, while calling the magazine ‘irresponsible’.
“Unfortunately we are forced by a recent press report to clarify that the assertion that Michael could move again is not true,” she said.
“Such speculation is irresponsible, because given the seriousness of his injuries, his privacy is very important for Michael.
“Unfortunately, it also gives false hopes to many involved people.”
After his devastating accident in 2013, the Schumachers made it known that they wanted utmost privacy regarding the matter, which they feel was breached by the German publication when they posted the story.
This prompted the family to use their lawyer, Felix Damm, and his services in filing a law suit.
