NAIROBI, Kenya, Sep 9 – Kenya Cup referee Victor Oduor has been nominated by Rugby Africa for selection as a match official for the 2016/2017 HSBC Sevens World Series.
Oduor, who furthered his officiating education at the Matties Referees Academy in South Africa, has officiated at the past two editions of World Rugby’s Junior World Trophy, and recently served as an Assistant Referee during July’s Rugby Africa Division 1A clash between Uganda and Namibia in Kampala.
Recently, Odour officiated the Africa Cup under 19 match between Madagascar and Uganda last month.
Oduor is currently undertaking level 3 course and could be the first Kenyan referee to officiate in the prestigious sevens series that Kenya has won one leg in the Singapore Sevens in April.
The 2016-17 season will kick-off on the weekend of December 2 in Dubai as the tour of 10 legs across five continents before concluding in London May 21 and 22.
