NANYUKI, Kenya, Aug 28- Finnish driver Tapio Laukannen grabbed his second win of the season after winning the Nanyuki leg of the KCB Safari Rally having had great performances in the Loldaiga and Lengetia stretches.
“It was a great outing and I am grateful to God for winning this rally, I dedicate this victory to my 2 years old boy back in Finland”, said an excited Tapio Laukannen.
Hot on his heels was defending champion Jaspreet Chatthe who finished second while Carl Flash Tundo navigated by Tim Jessop made it to the podium after coming in third.
Jaspreet Chatthe was delighted with the second position finish.” I will like to thank my team for their immense support in the outing Nanyuki was tough especially in the CS 5 but I am glad we managed to finish well with my navigator Gugu Panesar”, he said.
Onkai Rai and Baldev Chager finished fourth and fifth with six-time champion Ian Duncan finishing sixth.
The tough outing saw a number of drivers retire including Rajbir Rai, Raaji Bharij, Frank Tundo and Leo Varese.
