NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 18 – Mwamba Rugby Club has entered into a one year deal with luxury coach company Modern Coast to become the Club’s official transport partner.
The partnership is set to commence immediately, with the club travelling to Driftwoods Sevens hosted by Mombasa RFC this weekend.
Through the partnership, Modern Coast has sponsored the club financially as well as provide a branded coach to transport the club during local tournaments and league matches.
Mwamba Rugby Club honorary president, Alvas Onguru described the new partnership as timely to the club, revealing the deal would go a long way in cutting their cost for transport.
“This strategic deal demonstrates Modern Coast’s commitment to supporting local sports and specifically the rugby game. On behalf of Mwamba Rugby, I would like to welcome them to the rugby family and Kulabu (Mwamba),” Onguru stated.
Modern Coast PR and communications Manager, Jervis Sundays said, “We are delighted with our partnership with Mwamba RFC, as a leader in the transport industry it is very exciting to be partnering with one of the best sports teams in our region. The partnership commenced during the annual George Mwangi Kabeberi Memorial Sevens tournament hosted by the club at RFUEA Grounds last weekend.
Founded in 1977, Mwamba RFC has produced some of the Kenya’s finest rugby players. Rugby Sevens World Series all-time try scorer Collins Injera, veteran Humphrey Kayange and Dennis Ombachi are some of the club’s products.
Others are former internationals Horace Otieno, Johnny Mbai and Victor Opong.
