UNITED KINGDOM, May 9 – Southampton fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to the performances of Virgil van Dijk and Victor Wanyama against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday afternoon.

Defender Van Dijk and defensive midfielder Wanyama started the Premier League game at White Hart Lane in North London, and both played for the entire 90 minutes.

Van Dijk had a pass accuracy of 71%, won 50% of his tackles and 100% of his headers, and made two interceptions, 12 clearances and three clearances.

The Saints came from a goal down to get the better of Spurs 2-1, thanks to a double from Steven Davis.

“Imagine a world where Virgil, Mane, Wanyama AND Ronald sign contract extensions and this squad pushes on together next season… #saintsfc,” Ben Stanfield ‎@BenStanners twitted.

“Why would the likes of Wanyama and Mane want to leave us? We are a club on the up! #saintsfc,” Phil Smith ‎@PSmith1994 wrote.

“@sadiomane_fan Manè is unbelievable on his day, but feel we have already brought Wanyama’s replacement with Romeu and Reed in the academy,” Max ‎@SFCMax_ stated.

“Genuinely think Wanyama is one of our worst players technically. Anything upward of 10 mil and out the door #saintsfc,” Oscar Easton ‎@Ozzyeaston said.
