PARIS, October 23- Manchester City fans were being investigated after jeering the UEFA anthem at the team’s Champions League clash against Sevilla.

City won Wednesday’s game at Eastlands 2-1 but it was their fans who were in hot water for jeering the official anthem which is played before the kick-off of all matches in the tournament.

“The delegate has reported the fans for whistling the Champions League anthem and an investigation has been opened. This is not to say that the club will be sanctioned,” said a UEFA spokesman.
