LONDON, October 14- Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea refused to reveal whether his new contract had a release clause inserted after the recent Real Madrid debacle.

Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea refused to reveal whether his new contract had a release clause inserted after the recent Real Madrid debacle.

The Spain international looked to set sign for Los Blancos during the last transfer window but the proposed deal collapsed at the 11th hour.

De Gea subsequently penned a four-year extension at Old Trafford, although La Furia Roja boss Vicente del Bosque claimed on Tuesday the keeper would still end up at the Santiago Bernabeu.

“He must be happy at Spain and United, and in the future he will have the chance to go where he wants,” Del Bosque said.

Asked about a reported £30 million get-out clause after helping his country to a 1-0 win over Ukraine on Monday, De Gea insisted his agent, Jorge Mendes, was the man to speak to on such matters.

“You should ask Jorge that question,” the 24-year-old told reporters. “He’s the one who pays attention to those details.”

The Atletico Madrid youth product claims he has never felt better after making no less than 10 saves to preserve his clean sheet against the Ukrainians.

“I have to compete to the max,” he told TVE. “It’s true that I had a bit of luck today, but I did well and I’ve got to keep it up. I’m in the best form of my career.”
