LONDON, September 17- Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed that forward Pedro and midfielder Willian will not feature in the Blues’ Premier League clash against Arsenal at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
Willian suffered a hamstring injury during Chelsea’s match against Maccabi Tel Aviv on Wednesday, while Pedro is still recovering from a muscle injury.
“Willian is out for sure, I think Pedro is out for sure,” Mourinho told reporters. “I prefer problems when players are playing well than problems when players are playing badly.”
The loss of two key players comes as a major blow as the Blues look to turn their league campaign around after a dismal start which has seen them take just four points from the first five fixtures of their title defence. This dismal run sees them languishing in 17th position, just two points clear of the relegation zone.
