LONDON, July 10- Robin van Persie is set to be unveiled as a Fenerbahce player next week after the Turkish club confirmed they are close to a deal with Manchester United.
The Netherlands international saw game time at Old Trafford dwindle last season, leading to claims he could be on his way out of the club during the off-season.
And, the 31-year-old is now believed to have already agreed a switch to the Turkish giants, having undergone the first part of his medical in England on Thursday, and will pen a four-year deal in the coming days.
A post on Fenerbahce’s official Twitter account read: “Fenerbahce has begun transfer talks with Robin van Persie and his club Manchester United.”
Van Persie will now link up with former Red Devils team-mate Nani, who also recently joined the Istanbul outfit from United, where manager Louis van Gaal continues to rebuild a title-winning squad after returning the side to Champions League football last season.
