LONDON, July 10- The ongoing transfer saga surrounding wantaway Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling shows no signs of abating after the 20-year-old skipped training on Thursday.
The England international’s relationship with his current employers was already strained to breaking point, and his latest actions have done nothing to ease the ire of the club’s supporters.
Sterling reportedly contacted the club on Wednesday to inform them that he’d fallen ill and would not be able to attend the day’s training session.
According to claims made on social media, Liverpool sent their club doctor to Sterling’s house to ascertain the full extent of his illness.
The winger was said to be in good health, but was given the day off nonetheless. However, having called in sick again, it appears that Sterling is trying his best to force through a move to Manchester City ahead of the new season.
And in a further blow to manager Brendan Rodgers’ pre-season plans, Sterling has reportedly to the Reds Boss that he has no desire to join the club on its tour of the Far East, which begins on Sunday.
