LONDON, June 13- Jack Wilshere has rejected talk of leaving Arsenal to join Manchester City, saying he will stay at the Emirates as long as he’s wanted.
The England international has been linked with a move to the Etihad, with City desperate to fill their quota of ‘home grown’ players following the departures of Frank Lampard, Micah Richards and James Milner.
However, Wilshere insists he does not want to join a club where he would just be making up the numbers.
“I definitely wouldn’t go somewhere just because I’m a home-grown player,” he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports.
“I’d want to be wanted by a club, I want to be wanted by Arsenal. I’ve grown up at Arsenal. As long as Arsenal want me, I’m happy.”
