MANCHESTER, May 12- Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero believes his change in diet has led to his stunning form after bagging his 31st goal of the season on Sunday.
The 26-year-old struggled with injury in 2014, which subsequently ruled him out of the World Cup in Brazil where his Argentina went down to Germany in the final.
However, Aguero has since bounced back and is enjoying the form of his life, having bagged a hat-trick in the 6-0 thrashing of QPR at the weekend to take his Premier League tally this term to 25.
And, the City star has credited his meat-free diet for the change in fitness, saying: “I had to change a lot of things, starting with my food. I needed a healthier way of life.
“I went to a doctor in Italy and he checked everything we did, and I had to change quite a bit – no more pasta, no more sugar and no meat, which I used to eat quite a bit because Argentinean meat is very good.
“Hopefully, this season has proved that it has worked. Touch wood, I haven’t had any muscle injuries, only the knee problem.
“In training sessions I was struggling a little bit last season. For example, after every three training sessions I had to stop. I have improved in that and now I hope I can stay like this until the end of my career.”
