LONDON, February 27- Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says midfielder Jack Wilshere will miss Sunday’s clash with Everton after undergoing a minor ankle operation.
The Gunners boss moved to assure the club’s supporters that the procedure would not keep the England international on the treatment table for very much longer.
In fact, the French tactician expects Wilshere to be out for action for less than a week.
“Jack has had surgery to take two screws off his ankle because they were irritating him but it’s a very minor procedure – he’ll be out for a few days,” Wenger said in his pre-match press conference.
“It was irritating his ankle so they had to take them off.
“It was planned to be done at the end of the season but because he had an irritation we decided to do it now.
“If he was back for next weekend it would be quick – but it’s days not weeks.”
