Gervinho lashes out at Arsene

GERVINHO-ROMAONDON, December 10- Ivory Coast winger Gervinho has blamed Arsene Wenger for his failure to make an impact at Arsenal, although his love for the Gunners remains as strong as ever.

Wenger bought Gervinho from Lille in 2011, but the forward never became a star player at Arsenal and was eventually sold to Roma in 2013 where he has been an important part of a resurgent Giallorossi under Rudi Garcia.

Gervinho attributes his improved form in Serie A to a change in management style. “Wenger never had faith in me,” Gervinho told The Sun. “For a player that is important.”

“Garcia does not differentiate between those who play and those who don’t.” He said, praising the Frenchman’s man management.

“For him there aren’t only eleven players. There are 25 players. Everyone has the same level, gets treated the same, and gets spoken to in the same way.”

Despite feeling ignored at Arsenal, Gervinho still has fond memories of his time in North London.

“I don’t detest Arsenal because of the way Wenger treated me,” he added. “I dreamed of playing for them, I loved them since I was a child.

“My frustration is I quit Arsenal too soon. I left a club I loved without really showing how good I was.”
