Ulloa hailed as Foxes savour United win

LEONARDO-ULLOLALEICESTER, September 23- David Nugent said Monday that Leicester had signed one of the bargains of the English Premier League season in Leonardo Ulloa as the Foxes reflected on their stunning 5-3 victory over Manchester United.

Newly-promoted Leicester broke their transfer record to sign Argentina striker Ulloa for £8 million ($13 million, 10 million euros) from second-tier Championship club Brighton in pre-season.

That fee could rise to £10 million but Ulloa went some way to repaying that price tag by scoring twice, including one penalty, as Midlands club Leicester came from 3-1 down to defeat visitors United in dramatic style at the King Power Stadium on Sunday.

That took the 28-year-old Ulloa’s tally to five goals in five matches and England striker Nugent, who also scored from the spot for Leicester on Sunday, was in no doubt about his team-mate’s worth to the Foxes.

“Leo has been a revelation so far,” said Nugent. “He has come in from Brighton and he has scored lots of goals. At £8million he has turned out to be a bargain.”

Leicester, last season’s Championship-winners, have so far defied predictions of immediate relegation with a return of eight points from five matches — a fine return considering they have already played Arsenal, Chelsea and United.

“When the fixtures came out, with the start we were given, no one expected us to get any points, so we are proving everyone wrong,” said Nugent, who has played in the Premier League previously with Portsmouth.

“They can write us off all they want, but we know in this squad we have the spirit, the energy, and the players to cause teams problems as we showed against Manchester United.”
