Sorry for those injured..quick recovery wishes to you.
I hope this is not a case of someone taking advantage of the tense moment to sort out business rivalry. Thorough investigations have to be carried to ascertain the true cause of this.
Mi naona kama ni Business rivalry. lakini angetarget mwenye pub sio patrons ama better stiil the building when there are no pple.
sorry and quick recovery to those who were injured.
how can the police be on high alert if they dont even frisk passengers from Ushago!!! Ati high alert!!!
Kenyan citizens, vigilance should be your weapon too
Somalis should be worried for the growing hatred against them tho we should also blame our greedy citizens who have sold ancestral lands to these foreigners.
blame your self an later sell urself to the somalis
KENYANS SHOULD BE VERY KEEN THIS TIME ROUND….THE ENEMY IS REAL NOW AND THE THREATS ARE REALL….BUT ONE THING I KNOW IS THAT THIS EVIL WILL BE CONQUERED…..AM ALSO A MORAL TEACHER AND PEOPLE SHOULD GO HOME EARLY TO THEIR FAMILIES….WHAT ARE OU DOING IN A PUB AT 2 AM…IF YOU ARE A GOOD PERSON…..NATAKIA MAJERUHI KUPONA HARAKA…
Kwani Mututho laws are no longer in operation? These dudes should have been in bed by 11 pm on Sunday!!!!
Your right, infact these guys should be charged for breaking the law…
do Kenyan journalists and TVs concentrate on showing us blood on crime
scenes and other gross stuff? I never saw CNN or any other US TV showing
bloody scenes after 9/11 and they never show their bloodied soldiers in
Iraq or elsewhere. They only show collapsed buildings. Showing gross
scenes creates more fear in the population and will only help advance
the enemy’s cause. Just give the figures and facts and explain what
happened. This is the problem with an uncontrolled media.
People have to see what is happening and the seriousness of all of it. I watch CNN constantly and DO see graphic pictures when there are bombings so that is NOT true! I like in the US and seeing this as much as I don’t like seeing blood know that this is real and people need to be made aware of what happens.
People like you upset me because all of a sudden its too graphic but the reality is it it HAPPENING. If you don’t want to look at it…..don’t pick up the paper or click on the page. SO IRRITATING!
The government must have thrown this grenade at Mwaura’s so that they get full backing from the citizens of Kenya. We will not follow your mind games. You are hurting our very own Kenyans for something you needed to start and finish solely by yourselves NKToti!!!!!!
could you please provide some proof?
Kenyans can’t even trust their government. Suspicion ..suspicion all the time.
i think mbuvi has apoint.
If a 40 foot container loaded with electrical goods can get across the Somalia border and end up in Nairobi selling its cargo then ANYTHING can come across the border for a fee. Though this attack is cowardly we should also look at why our security officers on the border turn a blind eye or accept bribes for people and goods to cross. Perhaps if the security services have ‘security’ as their priority and not their wallets then these things would not happen. It will happen again and again though until security is taken seriously.
and what was a matatu tout doing in a bar at 3 oclock in the morning..- same person who is meant to attend to customers in the morning traffic – and we talk about vigilance. How would he be able to distinguish a grenade from a potato?
Were are Mututho laws? Why is the government good onl in talking tough! Yet no actions. Police investigations should be drived by getting the culprits, not just links with Al-shabaab
I think the Kenya police do not understand what it means in a state of high alert.this is when vigilance should be topmost not only on high end ares but also the local spots. We should have more police roaming not only a few streets but also the estate. There is no point of sending heavily armed GSU after an incident.Secure the scene using National Youth Service and free the officers to have them patrolling the streets and prevent future possible attacks. They should be more preemptive not reactionary.
We should not be afraid because of this,we should not be,deterred or waver. We should support our soldiers and rid kismayu of Al Shabbab. My the injured get well soon and thanks be to God no one died. Vigilance is the keyword now and Eastleigh needs to be stormed and searched thoroughly and other suburbs like South C,Komarock to name just a few.
Obviously that grenade must have come from Garissa Lodge. This is probably some al shabaab sympathizer who decided to carry out an ill advised opportunistic attack. So please lets all be extra vigilant and cooperate with the police and report to them any suspicious characters or occurances. Kenya is at war with an insidiuos enemy and its security and safety cannot be overemphasized.
what is the goverment doing about this somali people ? everywhere you go …SOMALIS…most resturants in town owned by SOMALIS……car parks……SOMALIS….buildings….SOMALIS…. the list is endless !!!!! Kenyans WAKE UP AND FIGHT FOR YOUR LAND AND PROTECT IT…..WE SHOULD KNOW OUR RIGHTS AS KENYAN CITIZENS !!!!!! This is sooo sooo sad.
stop being a racist… and don’t use the name Kenyans in capitals thinking you speak for the rest of us…
Don’t blame the somalis because not all somalis are al shabaab…
I hope that through this difficult time Kenyans keep this in mind…
This is what happens when you invade a foreign country! Well done al-Shabaab!
I doubt this was al-shabab I think it was some local al-shabab sympathiser.. anyway if anything, this sort of violence reminds us why stability is all the more important in our neighbour. I sense your hate for Kenyan’s and indeed any countries whose forces as you say ‘invade’ your country – but hear me out.
This hate is going to swallow you and those around you. It will consume you and never go away. That’s what hate does it makes us more angry more frustrated. It distances us away from reason and logic… I know you feel that the only way to satisfy your anger is to do even more hateful things – but it never will. Anger never wants to go away.
read the following with reason and logic, put the hatred aside for a moment…
Next time you hear or read materials from the al-shabab, al-queda, or any radicals listen out for the hate in their words. They are not looking for happiness, or peace with the world or themselves. Listen closer and you’ll realise they are trying to satisfy a certain anger. something only you and I know they can’t even hope to achieve.
These leaders want to lead you into a campaign to help them satisfy their anger, to them you are just a tool, an asset. Somalia is just a tool to them, a lawless land where they can do anything and no one will fight back. They tell Somali’s that they can’t listen to music, they steal the sons of Somali women to join their fight… and when Somali’s attempt to defy them, I don’t need to speak of horrors that befall them.
I’m not saying we are your friends, that’s up to you to decide, but what I’m certain of is that leaders of the so called al-shabab are not, they don’t need friends anyway… just bodies to do their will.
Allah will never forgive them, for the shame they lend to name Muslim
It was Al crap n all. They claimed responsibility for it the moment it happened. The media is giving this a blackout, well they have just bombed OTC….
The problem in Kenya is much bigger, even if you were to crack down al shabaab they have Kenyan IDs, how do u explain over 20% growth in Somali population with all the hunger NEP has been experiencing. The dept of immigration sd revoke all documents issued afta 2002 and have those sick animals apply again! On the other hand police and immigration depts pls be abit patriotic juz for once. Also let all somalis including those in Daadab go back to Somali, their president said they are OK and dont need Kenya’s incursion into somalia. So let them go kill each other and we seal that border completely, not even 1 somali soul sd be allowed in Kenya and if found shoot on sight!
some one said it once and I’ll say it again. Not every Somali is an al-shabab! Racism is going to lead to hate, hate to violence then violence to violence… if we start to thinking like that then the Al-shabab will be proven right when they said they will bring our country to the same state of war Somali is on.
Please read one of my earlier comments on how hatred works…
Al shaabab has just struck again at OTC….YOU FOOLS WE ARE COMING FOR YOU! BELIEVE THIS, EVEN WE KENYANS CAN PICK UP ARMS AND BOMB YOU ALL THE WAY TO TIMBUKTU. STUPID IDIOTS!!!!!!
we could really do with surveillance cameras right now… The same assailant can virtually roam the city safe in the knowledge we don’t have a clue what he looks like… This could turn into a xenophobic situation when Kenyans have no idea what Somali man or woman should be trusted…
