LONDON, England, June 10- Eden Hazard has dispelled rumours of a move to Paris Saint-Germain by confirming he has opened talks with Chelsea over a new contract.
The Belgium international, who is preparing for their World Cup opener against Algeria on June 17, has been heavily linked with a return to France at PSG.
Last week Hazard revealed that he had been offered the number 10 jersey by the Blues for next season, the number previously worn by Juan Mata, and claimed he would not go to Parc des Princes because that number was taken – by Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The 23-year-old attacking midfielder has now reaffirmed his commitment to Jose Mourinho’s side by admitting he has been offered fresh terms at Stamford Bridge and added that he had not met with the Ligue 1 champions.
Hazard told Belgian newspaper Le Derniere Heure: “I am staying at Chelsea, 100%. There is nothing more to say – everything is clear.
“Of course in football you never know, but I am under contract with Chelsea and I want to stay there – the rumours exist to sell newspapers. Moreover, I am in discussions with Chelsea for a new contract.
“It is only the beginning of the talks right now so we have time, but the fact that Chelsea have offered me a new deal means they have a lot of confidence in me that I can do a good job and that they can count on me. PSG never made any suggestions to me personally.”
