TPF judge ex Ouma arrested for coke

KASSIM-OUMALOS ANGELES, April 23- Former Ugandan boxing champion Kassim ‘The Dream’ Ouma just landed himself in a world of trouble.

Ouma, the ex-lover of songbird and Tusker Project Fame judge Julia Kanyamozi, was arrested this past weekend in Los Angeles for knocking a man out cold after the man allegedly made several gay advances towards the boxer but although those were dropped, he is in for illegal cocaine possession.

According to reports, the former IBF junior middleweight champion told police he was in a bar and struck up a conversation with a guy in the establishment.

After enjoying each other’s conversation, they went back to the man’s apartment for a drink.

That’s when Ouma says the unidentified man began pushing up on him. Kassim Ouma claims to have denied the man’s advances politely but the man refused to take no for an answer.

When Ouma got up to leave, he says the man made one more attempt and Ouma shoved the man backwards.

The man didn’t take too kindly to being shoved because the altercation escalated to the point Ouma knocked the guy out.

Police were called to the scene of the dispute and the victim was taken to a nearby hospital where he was treated for his injuries.

Ouma was arrested for felony battery and causing great bodily harm and neither he nor anyone from his camp have commented on the situation as he is still in jail.

Stemming from the incident, Ouma has also been charged with felony cocaine possession according to entertainment website, TMZ which broke the story.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney filed the charge against the 35-year-old boxer Tuesday — stemming from the April 18 incident.

Ouma was arrested for battery … but we’re told prosecutors did not file any charges against Ouma for the fight. It’s unclear why.

If convicted on the coke charge, Ouma faces up to 3 years behind bars.

We’re told Ouma is still in custody and is being held on $10k bail.

Born into poverty, at the age of six he was kidnapped and forced to join the National Resistance Army and consequently did not see his family for five years.

Ouma is the 7th of 13 children, which include 7 brothers and 5 sisters. Only 4 brothers are still alive.

After years of Ugandan media speculation, US-based Ugandan boxer ‘The Dream’ Ouma finally walked down the aisle on August 23, 2008, with long-time girlfriend Jalia Nandawula, a practicing nurse and pharmaceutical proprietor in Texas.

The boxer’s wedding came at a time when he and ex-lover, singer Kanyamozi, were having a rift.
