LONDON, England, April 3- Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has slated his side’s performance against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League quarter-finals on Wednesday, describing their defending as ‘ridiculous’.
The Blues saw their European hopes dealt a telling blow after an Ezequiel Lavezzi strike, a David Luiz own goal and a sublime Javier Pastore effort handed PSG a 3-1 first-leg win, with Eden Hazard claiming the away goal from the penalty spot.
When asked to explain his side’s ‘sloppy’ performance at the back, a clearly unimpressed Mourinho said: “I say ridiculous. You say sloppy, I say ridiculous.
“After the cross comes (for the first goal), we assist the striker and there’s no one going for the ball in the crucial position. In the second, it’s one of my players on the goal and that’s unlucky.
“But the way the team were positioned defensively was not correct. And finally, the third one is even more sloppy. Ridiculous.”
