NYERI, Kenya, April 13- The second leg of Kenya Volleyball Federation National League served off at Nyeri Technical Training Institute in Central Province with favourites teams winning their opening matches on Friday.
Men’s national champions General Service Unit (GSU) and their women equivalents Kenya Prisons who are preparing for this year’s African Clubs Championships displayed form and experience to record encouraging victories.
GSU beat Kakamega Prisons 3-0 (25-13, 25-18, 25-12) in men’s division one league match in 56 minutes.
African women’s queens Prisons were forced to work extra hard before beating fast-rising Nairobi Water 3-2 (25-23, 21-25, 25-21, 19-25, 15-10) in a women’s division one match that lasted two hours and three minutes.
Debutants Talent Academy showed great form when they beat Ulinzi 3-0 (25-15, 25-15, 25-17) in the other women’s match.
Kenya Airways beat Vegpro 3-1 (25-20, 24-25, 25-20, 25-19) in men’s division two contest.
